Rare Experience at the Norman Swabian Castle
This castle is in front of the old city (citta' vecchia) and was built by Emperor Federico II di Svevia. However, it was rebuilt/renovated many times. The castle is very impressive and it is surrounded by a moat.To be able to see more, we went inside through a castle bridge, after which we paid a little ticket of 3 euros. It's because during a certain time of the year (it's varying month in each year) the castle functions as a museum and oftentimes there are exbits. Most of the time however, it is free to enter. The castle has also its own little museum that tells centuries of related sories. The castle is very bare, no furnitures and all I could see were walls. When we went down the basement, I have seen the various style of foundation (flooring). It has varying layers as I have mentioned that many renovations were made in this castle. The last time I was passing outside this place, it was loaded with local students and tourists. I assumed they were there with their professors for history purposes. [more] |
