Folklife Festival

 stars
If you should ever get the chance to go to Seattle over Memorial Day (last Monday in May) do so and check out the Folklife Festival. It´s not as big as the one in D.C., but it´s organized with much love and care for detail. Folklife (actually "Northwest Folklife") gathers hundreds of artists - sculptors, painters, singers - to paint a vivid picture of the ethnic variety the Pacific Northwest is blessed with. It´s a colorful collection of crafts, art, music, film, and cuisine and last year it pulled around 250.000 visitors. Most of the action takes place around Seattle Center, the old World Fair site. You can check out this year´s program on www.nwfolklife.org. [more ]
