Makuli-Nguuta Nature Reserve
Makuli-nguuta is a relatively quite nature reserve that mainly serves as a wildlife migratory corridor in eastern Kenya. During a brief tour of the nature reserve, I observed an overwhelming presence of honey-making bees in the reserve. In fact, the reserve is dominated by both man-made and natural beehives, a true testimony to the status of Nziu as a leading natural honey producing area. We learnt from our tour guide that the nature reserve also provides habitat to wild animals such as baboons, monkeys, hyenas and gazelles. Anyway, we were only lucky to spot a few gazelles because we arrived at the nature reserve quite late in the evening during sunset.
