Pilies Gatve
Pilies Gatve is one of my favourite streets in Vilnius. It is a narrow cobbled street in the Old Town. There is eternal amount of little shops, boutiques, cafes and restaurants on both sides. You can turn into even smaller lanes or squares which will lead you back to Pilies or head to the main boulevard. On a good summer day we normally choose a restaurant with a terrace with a good view of Pilies street and enjoy a glass of Lithuanian beer watching calm local people and excited tourists browsing through the shops. On a winter day it is easy to find a little cozy café with mouth watering choice of sweets and pastry and have a hot cup of tea (they have great selections of teas from all over the world in many canditories and cafes). There are also lots of souvenir stores on this street and some small art galleries. Lithuanians have a great taste and passion for home decorations. We’ve bought there some very elegant and original pieces. [more] |
