A Salty Experience
Every time I’m in Bacolod City, I always know that I will be eating a lot of chickens. What do I expect? Chicken, specifically Chicken Inasal or grilled chicken, is the city’s specialty. Nothing tastes better than this chicken recipe. One place that you can go to if you want a local chicken meal is Chicken Alley. The name says all about its menu. But I will tell you about the rest. Service is good in this resto bar because the waiter will never leave your side while ordering and while eating. The thing is, be ready to wait for a long time for your order. I also didn’t like the chicken here because it was salty. Nevertheless, the entertaining live band saved my day. I said you can go to this place if you’re looking for a local chicken meal, but I didn’t say you’ll really like it there. [more] |

Best Chicken Inasal/Grilled in Bacolod!
In Bacolod City, the most common thing to eat--on the run, in a restaurant or at home--is grilled chicken. Specifically the dish is called chicken inasal (in the local dialect). A street called "Manukan Alley," literally "Chicken Alley," has row after row of specialty hole in the wall chicken restaurants. Each restaurant has its own version of grilled chicken--usually a guarded family recipe! Some are made with marinade that tastes rather sweet or salty.
