German fast food at its best

 stars
Both Hamburg and Berlin claim they have invented the Currywurst, a popular fast food that is only rivalled by Turkish kebabs here. Wherever it was served first, it is defenitely served best at the Edelcurry, a tiny sausage barbeque place downtown. Edel can be translated as sorta fancy, but it really isn't a fancy place. The sausage is excellent, though, everything is superfresh, the meat is from local cattle farms and even the ketchup is made from scratch. So are the fries, by the way, and they manage to make them with 20% less fat than normal. The curry sause is supertasty, but you shouldn't expect it to be hot. If you like it a bit more spicy you can ask them to put extra chili on it. [more]
