The Good Old Cisternino and Its Panoramic View
Have a car to go around South Italy? Why don't you try visiting this picturesque town in the province of Brindisi? If you are to commute publicly it is a bit difficult to be in this place because the train station is far from the city and the buses pass at a 2-hour interval and there only few trips during the day. Cisternino is the door of the Valle d'itria. Valle D'itria is famous for the wines and trulli. The town of Cisternino is located uphill and certain parts one can have a very panoramic view of the Valle d'itria where the beautiful conical roofs (the trulli) are displayed. Moreover, the old part of the town is also amazingly preserved. When you happen to visit here in summer, you may ask to rent and sleep in the old town house, which has very long stairs to reach the apartment up. Naturally, the comfort is not to its highest level when doing so but the experience, I can say, is really wonderful. [more] |
