Wye Valley Sculpture Trail
A little know gem in the beautiful Wye Valley is the “sculpture trail” near to the town of Coleford. It consists of several dozen statues, sculptures and enigmatic works of art situated along four miles of lovely walking trails in a Forestry Commission managed site. The works of art range from nature-inspired carvings and animal figures woven from branches to a mysterious black staircase in the middle of a muddy clearing. Some of the works of art are quite subtle and hard to spot such as a series of signs halfway up some tall trees. The trail starts at Beechenhurst Lodge and there is no charge for walking the trail but you do pay for parking at the site. [more] |
