Cheap nice hotel for first time in Munich
I stayed once for a couple of days at Meininger. It is very well located to explore Munich if this is your first time in the city – given the proximity to the main train station or to the Oktoberfest, if that is your reason for visiting. Just across the street you can also find the Augustiner-Bräu Brewery - the oldest one in Munich. The international crowd was significant when I was at Meininger and the personnel were quite nice. If you are with a group of people it is cost-effective to rent a full room with many bunker-like beds for the entire group. The breakfast and cost in all was decent.
