The worst hotel we've ever stayed at
We were about to go out to eat but were pressured into having dinner there (“the chef is on his way to cook for you”). There was no menu and although the waiter spoke English he ‘couldn’t’ understand us when we tried to get an indication of the cost for the set menu. We were presented with a two course meal of pasta (sauce from a jar) and fish (some parts not even completely thawed) with potatoes (from a can). The next morning when we were checking out, we were shocked to find that we had been charged 38 euros each just for the two courses.
The photos on this hotel’s web site did not match reality. All the furniture and fittings are very basic (the site’s photos of the dining room were clearly taken when it was dressed up for some special event eg a wedding). Worse, there was a queasy smell of cat’s urine in the dining/breakfast area.
We were a group of six in three rooms, and don’t generally mind at all if a hotel is old. But this one is very poorly maintained. There was mould on the bathrooms’ walls and ceilings. Two out of three of the doors were difficult to lock and unlock. One of the windows was completely jammed. Only one of the TV remote controls worked. The walls are thin so you can hear everything, including people using the toilet in the room next door.
None of us has ever stayed in a worse hotel.
