Great Playground at Hines Park
The Hines Park is easy to find. It is located right off the main highway that runs through town (Highway 20). It is also hard to miss because of the tall red double slide that is one of the main features of the park. While the tall slide has been known to give mothers butterflies as they watch their children climb the ladder, even the older kids seem to love it. I am always glad when my youngest are still a little too timid to climb the steep ladder, for I, too, get butterflies when they get old enough and brave enough to make the climb. The park offers other great playground equipment for kids to play on although after the slide, these may seem fairly low-key. They have two sets of swings, one for older children and one for babies and toddlers. They have a see-saw (teeter-totter), another shorter slide, rings and a bar, and a merry-go-round. There are also picnic tables and plenty of open areas for kids to run. Just across the street, as an extension of the Hines Park is a skate park for skateboarders and rollerbladers. In a small community, this is a fantastic place to take your children for an outing. There is plenty for them to do and a lot of space in which to play. [more] |
