Wan Chai Hong Kong Tea Room
I've never thought that this restaurant/café had anything special before my orders were delivered to my table.
My friends and I were quite tired after a day-long shopping spree, so we wanted to sit down and have a bowl of noodles. It turned out that the ‘bowls’ we were expecting was actually enormous-sized plates!
I ordered a bowl of Dry Noodle with Dumplings, which was marvelous and the dumpling tasted like a juicy mix of prawn and (maybe) chicken.
But one of our orders, the Seafood Crunchy Noodle, was certainly something extraordinary. We’d thought that the meal will be a plate of dry noodle with tiny chunks of fish and prawns, but these chunks turned out to be extremely large! The crunchy noodles was served with least two fresh tiger prawns, two big size of fish fillet (I don’t know what kind), squids, crab meat, and two clams of oysters.
The Ham and Cheese Toast was also very nice, combining the crunchiness on the crust and the creaminess of the cheese.
The Milk Ice Tea was no ordinary beverage either, as turned out that they serve it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top. I certainly made a mistake by judging this Tea Room as another snack counter. [more ]
