Solitude Found At Spruce Creek Park

 stars
Spruce Creek Park at 6250 Ridgewood (US-1), Port Orange, FL 32127 is a quiet little park lying along the banks of Rose Bay and Spruce Creek. The park offers tent camping, picnic areas, walking trails, boardwalks, canoe and kayak areas, and fishing. In addition there is a playground area for the children and restroom facilities. With about 3 miles of minimum impact trails it's not too strenuous a hike to get to a small observation tower that overlooks the marshes surrounding Spruce Creek. The view is incredible. I find it's a good idea to carry bug repellent and water with me in the park. The local VoTran bus stops just up the road from here so it's possible to take public transport to the area to explore.
