If you’re coming or going from the international ferry terminal at Le Havre with time to kill then there’s not a lot of choice for food at the ferry terminal itself (there is one small café-style area). A top tip is to leave the immediate port area and walk the five to ten minutes towards the town of Le Havre itself and seek out one of the restaurants in this area. There’s a group of restaurants on the quay immediately facing the place the ferries depart and just round the corner you’ll find La Taverne Paillette, an unpretentious eatery serving some good local seafood and a daily “plat du jour” (including such treats as “pot au feu” stew and kidneys).
