Antonin Baths, Carthage

4.0 stars

The Antonin Baths at Carthage

The Antonin Baths are the best of the Roman ruins in Carthage. The ruins themselves are quite impressive, showing several levels of the ancient baths as well as some of the enormous pillars that once supported the roof of this magnificent structure. The ruins themselves are surrounded by beautiful gardens. The signboards are fairly informative and gave me a good idea of what the baths must have looked like in their glory days. They also tell you a bit of the history, which makes the piles of rubble and the old tunnels that much more interesting. If you're at all interested in the ruins in Carthage, this site should be at the top of your list. [more ]
