Excellent area for Hiking! stars

Dovrefjell-Sunndalsfjella is one of Norway's national parks and is therefore also a part of DNT (Norwegian Trekking Association)'s network of tourist cabins and trekking routes.

The start of the national park is easily marked by the massive Snøhetta mountain that is easily distinguishable. The national park has a wide range of mountains but also offers a wide variety of animals and birds. Most peculiar is the Mosk Ox that was introduced in the last century. There are plenty of Mosk Ox trails to be found and there are also a lot of Mosk Ox tours based in Oppland that you can join if you want to see them while having a fantastic trek. [more]

Dovrefjell-Sunndalsfjella National Park - Overview

Dovre-Sunndalsfjella National Park is a National Park in Norway. It was founded in 2002 to replace and enlarge the former Dovrefjell National Park, originally founded in 1974. It occupies 1,693 km² and encompasses areas in three Norwegian counties: Oppland, Sør-Trøndelag, and Møre og Romsdal and includes large parts of the mountain range of Dovrefjell.
