The centre of London
Piccadilly Circus is one of those places where you really seem to be in the middle of it all. People like me who enjoy the hustle and bustle aspects of a big city feel right at home here. This is definitely not a place for a quiet drink, but if you're looking to get away for a while, you can duck into the cinema and see a film, or even catch a movie at the IMAX. Shopping opportunities abound, especially if you're looking to buy a ton of CDs or DVDs at the gigantic music shops. The only drawback is the smell of exhaust from the tremendous amounts of traffic, but that's just part of being in the big city. [more] |

The lively Piccadilly Circus
The region of Piccadilly Circus is one of the most tourist places of London. It is a mix of gaudy neon, clubs, restaurants and impressive shops. During the day or at night, the attraction is always busy. The statue of Eros, in front of the neon, normally is crowded by tourists, who look for the best angle to take photos of the colourful panel or even sit down in the monument for a relaxing time after a tour in the shopping streets nearby. Some of them have great bargains. In my opinion, a visit to the lively Piccadilly Circus, for sure, is an obligation. It is located in Central London and just few minutes from Trafalgar Square or Leicester Square. [more] |

A classic meeting point for all
"Meet me at 6 by the Eros Fountain." That is such a normal thing for londoners to say. Picadilly Circus is such a fantastic corner in central London. Of course it is a must stop for a picture with the giantic screens, but for those like me, who lived in London is more like the classic meeting spot with visiting friends. I always love to see people sitting around the Eros Fountain just talking, resting and probably waiting. There are fantastic shops around, and its location is perfect whether one is heading for Oxford Street, the Trocadero, Leicester Square or Trafalgar. [more] |

Piccadilly Circus
Piccadilly Circus is always billed as the place to be in London- plently to do and see and eat and drink and dance and do whatever you want to do. It's definitely a fun place to be because it's truly crazy with soooo many people around- but then it's also a super expensive place to go out and you won't get a table or a seat but instead be crushed into a corner of a noisy place where you can't even hear yourself speak, never mind your friends. Try it once, then find somewhere better to socialise. There is a big IMAX cinema you could go into if you fancy a bit of peace and quiet! [more] |

Piccadilly Circus
Piccadilly Circus is not actually a circus, but rather, a sort of roundabout where where folks have a tendency to hang out at with one another while watching and listening to the many different street performers who appear here frequently. When I came here, I was moreso just taking a stroll through when my friend told me about the place and the saying if you hang around here for fifteen minutes, you're bound to meet someone you're either waiting for or whom you've taken a liking to. Plenty of photo opportunities are up for grabs here, and if you're not on a budget, take a walk past the giant LED advertisements and do a bit a shopping. Your lady will love you for it. [more] |

Picadilly Circus
Picadilly Circus is a lot of fun. Its a little bit of madness in an otherwise very organised and polished city. Sit at the statue of Eros with the kids and tourist and watch the world go by. You are surrounded by a thousand faces rushing to or from work, gliding serenely to the theatre or exploring and capturing the scene on their Sony Digital Cameras. Load sof places to eat or be entertained are in short walking distance, China Town is round the corner, and bars, clubs and theatres see a steady pace of visitors come and go all day long. Great place for celebrity spotting too I have been reliably informed! [more] |

Statue: The Statue of Eros
The Statue of Eros is the way some Londoners call the monument in the Piccadilly Circus. It is a statue people know little about. I believe this is what makes it so special; this and the place it is located in. The little stone statue is in the very heart of Piccadilly Circus. There are five different roads that meet here. Buses, cars or bikes all go around this little statue. I asked many Londoners, young and small but only a few said that the statue is Eros the Greek God of love. It is actually Shaftsbury Monument Memorial Fountain that dates back from 1892 to commemorate the philanthropic works of Lord Shaftsbury. The winged nude is thought to be Eros though the initial intention is not that. The monument is spectacular and it is an interesting London icon. [more] |

Piccadilly Circus
To get to Piccadilly Circus take tube to Piccadilly Circus. The sight of Piccadilly Circus in London is famous world over. A hub nub of activity it draws crowds on tourists much like Trafalgar square. Although in all honesty and in my opinion, even with the pigeons Trafalgar Square seems a bit cleaner. Piccadilly Circus is the very heart of London where Regent street, Haymarket, Shaftesbury Avenue and Piccadilly meet. At Piccadilly you can find the largest Virgin Megastore as well as that famous statue of Eros that makes it so recognizable. Well apart from the obvious neon signs as well. [more] |

Piccadily Circus
Piccadily Circus is a lovely marketplace in the West of London. It’s famous for the electric advertisments dated from the early 1900s. We stopped there with the subway and wanted to have a coffee at the famous “Monico”, but thought again when we saw the prices. The Piccadily Circus intersection is like any busy marketplace. There are many people resting at the bottom of the statue of Eros, which is adorable and a must. From the intersection, you can easily get to other major higlights of London, like the London Pavillion. [more] |
