Old Faithful Inn
All of the lodging within Yellowstone National Park is run by Xanterra Parks and Resorts. You won’t find any Yellowstone Hiltons, etc. One of the most popular (read more expensive and hard to get into!) places to stay in the park is the Old Faithful Inn. This is often for those who don’t want to go far beyond the beaten track in the park and aren’t ones for camping. Though, staying in a nice hotel is always fun! The inn was originally built in 1903 and 1904. It’s been renovated and expanded since then, but it still maintains a log cabin type style and feel though it’s 7 stories tall and the lobby absolutely soars. There is a large stone fireplace and the original chandeliers in the lobby. It’s definitely a unique place! The Old Faithful Inn is closed during the winter, though there are other places in the park to stay during the winter. Prices start at around $100 for rooms without a bathtub and they go up from there from rooms with a bathtub through to suites that cost over $500 a night. You can request rooms with a view of the Old Faithful geyser. [more] |
