It's hit and miss at the Mega Movies Cinema in Brunswick Square
The Brunswick Square mall has a cinema – the Mega Movies theatre with 13 theatres. The theatre is staffed by high school and college students, that quite frankly, don’t seem to have a clue. I’m generally fairly forgiving at theatres and retail shops, because I’ve worked in both and I know that it’s rather a thankless position. The work is menial, the uniform is itchy and the pay is abysmal. That being said, the level of incompetence at this theatre was a bit overwhelming. The one good thing I can say is that the rate of turnover is inevitably high in this business, so in a few months, the theatre may be running wonderfully with an entirely new staff. The movie prices are standard for the area. The entrance is on the far side of the shopping centre from Route 18. There are cheaper matinee prices available. The movies shown are the usual major blockbuster releases, no indie or art flicks here. [more] |

Brunswick Square Mall, standard shopping but still good.
Brunswick Square is a shopping center right off of Route 18 in East Brunswick. It’s on the west side of the street, so if you’re coming from the south, you’ll have to take one of the jughandle turns where you have to turn right to turn left. They have the standard selection of mid-range, suburban mall stores: Claire’s Accessories, PacSun, Bath and Body Works, American Eagle Outfitters, Famous Footwear, Foot Locker, Old Navy, Kay Jewelers, Old Navy, etc. The big stores that anchor the mall are Macy’s and JcPenney’s. There is also a massive Barnes & Noble Bookstore, which I absolutely love. It’s open from 10:00am to 9:30pm Monday to Saturday and from 11:00am to 6:00pm on Sunday. [more] |
