Truly the best
I know that the other review for this restaurant says that the steak frites here is not the best in the world... and I need to see the one that beat out l'Entrecote! This steak is seriously so delicious and the sauce really is to die for. Apparently they have to burn their garbage so that no one steals the recipe, but one unmistakable addition is tarragon mustard. The fries are great too... really crispy and tasty. I think they must be done in duck fat, but I try not to think about it too much. Since this combo, plus a delicious and simple salad with vinaigrette, is the only option on the dinner menu, be sure not to bring any vegetarians with you. For steak lovers, however, this is the top of the top, and you do get to make some choice when picking from the rather extensive dessert menu... if you can manage dessert after several helpings of steak frites! Relais de l'Entrecôte Saint-Germain: try the steak-frites
I met my husband on his lunch break one day at Relais de l'Entrecôte Saint-Germain when the weather was still nice enough for visitors to take a seat outside at one of the cute little tables for two that were placed right in front of the restaurant. He had told me once before that their steak-frites were the best in all of Paris and unlike any others you'll find in town since they're supposedly made with a secret sauce. The steak-frites were pretty good, I have to admit, but not the best I've ever tried (that would be found back at home!), although they really were the best I've had in Paris, and fairly cheap, as well!
