Castello di San Giusto
Castello di San Giusto is located at Piazza Cattedrale. The bastion can be found just behind the cathedral. It took quite a while to be built (from 15th until 17th century). Inside during the summer months there is the open air theater, however even if you don’t know Italian and do not fancy watching a play the walls are definitely worth checking out as they do offer really pretty views of Trieste and Adriatic. This is also home to the Civic museum, which you might want to check out to get a better idea of the splendor of the Venetian chamber. Opening hours are daily from 9:00am until 7:00pm; closes earlier during the winter months. [more] |
