Hogsbreath Cafe Review
Hogsbreath Cafe in Penrith, NSW, Australia in the Penrith Plaza is one of my favourite restaurants. It is a hip place with license plates lining the top of the walls, wooden banners, pictures of races or footie, road signs, etc... It is just a fun atmosphere to enjoy a meal and a beer. The inside tables are bench seats or square tables with plenty of room to move around, have a pram, wheelchair or kid dancing. The outside is set up cafe style with old fashioned wooden tables that is great in any weather; it is covered by the plaza roof. The neat item I want for my house, is the salt and pepper shakers are bottles of Corona beer with holed tops. The table menu holders are diamond plated steel like the car step-ups. The food is out of this world. Curly fries in a cone basket with sweet chilli sauce and ranch, the chicken wraps and the thick juicy steaks. It has an Australian cuisine that will have you loosening your belt but still wanting more. The kids’ menu has nuggets, burger, steak, schnitzel with curly fries or healthy options of side dishes. All allergies are catered for; the chef has allergies himself and can alter items on the menu to suit needs. Kids receive an activity pack upon arrival with puzzles, colouring contests, tattoos, and stickers. There is also a birthday club for kids under 12 to receive a free meal on their special day. There are handicap facilities and a separate changing room. If you get their frequent diners card you can receive 25% off your main meals after six visits or purchase the card for $50. Mains run from $11.95 to $31.95, entrees $4.95 to $19.95 and desserts $7.50 to $14.25. Kid’s menu runs from $8.95 to $9.95. They are fully licensed with a bar separate from the dining room available if you are just looking to watch the footie game with a beer. They accept all major credit cards and eftpos, so you don’t have to worry about having cash on hand for that extra dessert. You can order online before you dine so that your food is ready and waiting on you when you arrive. They even have a bit of merchandise for sale at the register. T-shirts, coolers, jumpers all with the Boss Hog emblem to remember your time out and the prices are not to hefty. It is a nostalgic experience you will never forget. [more] |
