Lonestar Steakhouse and Saloon review
Lone Star Steakhouse and Saloon on Mulgoa Road in Penrith, NSW, Australia is a western dream of great food. The decor is done up Old West style with longhorn stuffed head and all. The saloon is separate from the dining room and there is a separate room also used for functions that you can take your kids to watch tv and play while you dine. There is a kidz biz placemat with a bucket of crayons for them to colour and a birthday club for a free meal. There is also a Lone Star Club for frequent diners that give $2 of the sign-up fee to a charity called Youngcare. I love having the flower pot of peanuts as you wait on your meals, but you cannot throw the shells on the floor anymore because too many idiots saw opportunity to sue. Why do others always have to ruin it for the people not looking for free money? It is a steakhouse, so of course the food is surf (steaks, ribs, chicken, pork chops, salmon and burgers). It is a western theme so of course it has some Mexican dishes. The kid’s menu is nuggets, steak or burgers with fries, mash or salad running from $8.25 to $9.95. Entrees run $6.95 to $23.50, mains $16.95 to $30.95 and desserts $5.50 to $11.50. They are open Sunday thru Thursday 11:00 to 10:00, Friday and Saturday 11:00 to 11:00. They try to cater to allergies, but there are peanuts on the premises so no guarantee of cross contamination. There are highchairs and changing facilities and wheelchair access. They are fully licensed of course, they have a saloon, and they accept all major credit cards and eftpos. I enjoyed the steak with prawns and a corona beer with a few mates and my husband there.
