How to Find Mona’s Bakeshop
Mona’s Bakeshop is one of my newly discovered gems largely because of its being eternally open to customers (except maybe during Sunday nights.) This unique bakeshop is located among rows and rows of houses, dormitories, apartments, convenience stores, and eateries in Teacher’s Village—a community of students, teachers, public vehicle drivers, and the likes near campus grounds. It is at the entrance of a narrow street leading to Barangay Krus na Ligas and just along Maginhawa street. To get there, you either ride a tricycle which is cheaper and easier or hail a cab which is safer and more recommended. Looking for that place where you can buy almost anything you need at whatever time you choose? Enter Mona’s Bakeshop, the only bakeshop I know that’s open for 24 hours. It’s more than a pastry store I think. It’s like a cross between a bakeshop and a convenience store. From batteries to sticks of cigarettes to matches and even liquor—you name almost everything a college student needs and he got it. Well, for the most part, anyway. And with affordable, student-friendly prices for all their goods, you just can’t go wrong with this store.
