Reasons for coming back

 stars
There are just tons of reasons why you should go back to Seattle’s Best. The venue itself houses some of the most interesting people I have seen and conversed with in my entire life, thus becoming a reason on its own; the place also provides a soothing sanctum to all those in need of one especially for the late night crammers; because of the aforementioned students, the place becomes even more relaxing as if time stops exactly during the calm before the storm; parking isn’t at all a hassle since a vast parking lot is just behind the coffee shop; you need not spend much to be able to rent a comfy spot in this area. As long as a couch is vacant, you can occupy it provided you’re actually a paying customer; and speaking of prices, you’d already be able to survive with $4—that’s already a drink and a pastry. In other countries like Holland, you pay twice as much just to enjoy in a coffee shop. You can also customize your own drink for a small fee. Pay a little extra for a little extra something, like an espresso shot or flavoring syrup or whipped cream.

This haven has it all, and I can’t think of any reason to not come back. If you feel otherwise, or you just want to speak your mind about the place, feel free to email them at guest "mailto:service@sbc.com.ph", or contact them at their Katipunan branch by dialing 02-926-4040 or 02-926-5666. [more]

Talk About Food in a Coffee Shop

 stars
Seattle’s Best’s menu, of course, is nothing short of superb. If it wasn’t delicious and I wasn’t pleased then I wouldn’t have made a review of the place. This coffee shop has a wide range of food choices, from light dessert snacks like pastries and cakes to more-filling meals likes sandwiches and pasta. The beverages, however, made the cafe into what it is now, and the drinks list fills up more than half of the menu. Serving both hot and cold drinks as well as coffee and non-coffee brews, Seattle’s truly does have what it takes to be called the best. My favorites happen to be the Premium Chocolate Milkshake for the non-coffee drink, the Brownie Javakula for the cold coffee infusion, and the White Chocolate Mocha for the hot coffee classic. Among these, I seriously recommend the Milkshake. Truly, Seattle’s was not kidding when it claimed that it was the World’s Best Coffee Milkshake. I just love it so much to the point that I crave for it regularly. Be warned though that once you go premium, you can’t go back; and life would never be the same without this chocolate addiction. Yum! [more]

Want to Go there?

 stars
As Katipunan isn’t at all very far from the University of the Philippines (UP) Diliman, the most economically sound way to get there is to get a jeepney with a red roof from anywhere inside the campus. If, however, you prefer to get there in your own pace, then drop the jeepney idea altogether since this vehicle stops at any point in the road as long as there are passengers who’d either want to ride it or get out of it. Then take your own car for a cruise. From within UP, simply drive along C.P.Garcia away from Quezon Hall, and then take a right turn at the end. Once you see shops like Teriyaki Boy, Bo’s Coffee Shop, Starbucks, and KFC along the way, then you’ll know you’re on the right track. The safest and my recommended mode of transportation if you don’t have a car is the taxi. Just hail an empty cab from anywhere, say the magic words, and viola! You’re there, safe and sound. If luck would have it and there’s not much traffic, you’d pay a little below $2 provided that you were near Katipunan to begin with. A small price to pay for a fast and comfy ride, don’t you think? I Love the Location!

 stars
Seattle’s Best Coffee actually has over 20 branches nationwide, located all across the country. If you’re in a highly urbanized and densely populated place such as Makati City, Taguig, or Alabang, then you’d probably find a Seattle’s Best there. My favorite happens to be located in Quezon City which is also an urbanized area. It is in Katipunan Avenue, right smack in front of Ateneo de Manila University and beside popular fast food chains like Kenny Roger’s Roasters, Greenwich Pizza, Red Ribbon Bakeshop, and McDonald’s. Why do I love this location? Aside from being close to the eateries I always go to, this particular branch is where all the brutal action of a student’s life takes place since schools like the University of the Philippines Diliman, Ateneo, and Miriam College are all within a ten mile radius of the coffee shop. People watching has always been fun, but watching students or professors cram makes me value my chill time even more. [more]

Seattle’s Best Coffee

 stars
A lush, comfortable, supposedly worry-free zone packed with cramming students at two o’clock in the morning sipping caffeine in either hot or cold form while intensely studying just so they could stay awake and cram some more—a funny, ironic sight, I assure you, but never a rare one at a place called Seattle’s Best Coffee. If you’re looking for a place where you can spend your money and time in a cozy lounge area a few hours before sunrise along with students with somnambulism (or a certain deficiency in time-management skills), then congratulations, friend; you’ve found it1 Enter SBC, the coffee house designated for insomniacs and crammers alike. Who knows, you just might find someone you can bond with over a single cup of coffee. And if not, then hey, at least you know of a place where you can cure your insomnia. After all, if you’ve got a problem sleeping, maybe a warm drink is what you need…decaffeinated, of course. [more]
