Out of all of the restaurants we visited during our stay in the town of York, I think that Russells Restaurant had to be one of my top three favourites. My girlfriend took me here to get a taste of true British cuisine, and it was some of the best food I've ever had in my life! We started out with roasted bell peppers stuffed with rice, followed by what was called "steak in a copper pot" for me and tuna steak with lemon and capers for her. For dessert, we shared (yes, shared -- that's how large the portions were here!) a slice of chocolate fudge cake. The overall price turned out to be just around £35.00 or so... not bad, I'd say!
