Donisl am Marienplatz Interested in traditional bavarian food? You can try this lovely restaurant, Donisl right next to the Rathaus at Marienplatz. During the summer time, they do offer some tables outside, where you can enjoy your beer and take a look at people walking by. This area is however very crowded in sunny days though, but they always have a lot of seats inside the restaurant, which can also give you a chance to have a closer look at the traditional bavarian architecture. The food is just great and the price is very understandable. Unlike the other restaurants in this area, at Donisl you cannot find anything that cost more than 7,65 EUR. Do know that bavarian food can fill you up very easily so just take it easy when you order. [more]

Cheap genuine German food and good beer What more could you want? Oh, did I forget to mention that it is smack in the middle of Marienplatz? The beer they serve is Hacker-Pschorr, one of the better of the 6 great. The food is good 'ol German cuisine and if you don't know what to get then get the Sweinhaxen with Knödel and Kartoffelsalat, delicious! If possible try to get a seat in the inner part of the restaurant as the atmosphere is better and if they have a live band you are more likely to hear it :) The main courses are maximum 7,50 euro, so not too shabby.
