Lunch on Isaac's rooftop patio
We had lunch at Isaac’s and were on one of their three or four tables on the rooftop patio. This rooftop dining area is very small and all you can see are the walls of the surrounding buildings. Nevertheless it was very cosy and nicely decorated with some plants on the patio and candles on the tables. The food is great but not excellent and it seemed to be a bit overpriced to me. Our waitress was lovely and very attentive and I really can’t complain about the service. I got really excited when I read in their menu that they have the best Mojitos in Savannah, so obviously I had to order one. I don’t know who decided to include that statement about the best Mojitos in town on the menu – probably some creative marketing person who had never tried a Mojito at Isaac’s before. In fact, it was probably one of the worst ones I’ve ever had. All I could taste was water and the “fresh” mint had a brownish colour. All in all, this is a nice place to grab lunch or have a relaxed evening dinner. The food is good, the service is great but stay away from those Mojitos. [more] |

Isaac's on Drayton- an ok bar
Located at a weird spot on Drayton street I found Isaac's on Drayton, a nice little bar that few know about. It's not the cheapest bar in the world, but the food is actually very good, and almost any time of day or night you can still carry on a conversation with your friends. It's only drawback is the location, and that it has a ghost or two living there. Well, that's usually a selling point for most people. Many "Ghost Tours" also stop through here, so don't be too surprised to see huge groups coming through to get one drink. [more] |
