Temple of Literature
A walking tour of the famous Temple of Literature brings you right to the Chinese and Confucianist roots of the Vietnamese people! With a bottle of water in tow, my two friends and I scoured the various temples with a guide. Other than the amazing buddha’s, gardens and even a mini-Vietnamese traditional music recital, ee were in awe at the huge statues of turtles, in various sizes, all huge and still! Apparently rubbing them meant an increase of knowledge, wisdom and also success in life from studying, such as the young Vietnamese scholars needed to take the national exams to get into government posts long ago!
