One of the most unusual restaurants we visited while in Amsterdam would have to be "ctaste," where you dine in complete darkness. When we first walked in, the place was lit and our orders were taken right there. We had only a few options: we could trust the chef's decisions, go veg for the evening or eat meat, poultry or fish, but other than that, we had no idea what we were getting. After our orders were taken, we were led into a completely dark room by a blind waiter -- yes, truly visually-impaired! We had to rely on our other senses for the evening to enjoy our meals, just like our blind waiter would normally do so. I believe what I had was a steak with garlic seasoning and vegetables and cheesecake for dessert... it tasted great, but it was hard to eat in the dark. To me, this place is set to make other people understand how it feels to be blind and how gifted the non-visually-impaired people really are, and I was glad to get out of there, to be honest...
