Butuan Airport
Travelers who are bound to some parts in the northern Mindanao should be familiar with the airport of Butuan city. Aside from the fact that it is a major gateway of foreigners to some of Mindanao's "hidden" tourist destinations, the Butuan airport is also the link of many Filipino "balikbayans" to their home provinces. Whenever we are there, even for a short amount of time, I feel like we have arrived home because of the people we are surrounded with -- families reunited or groups of friends traveling together. So, never mind that the place is small or that the facilities (including the aircon in the waiting area) are lacking. I guess, in this case, the people you are with as well as the accommodating and thorough service being extended to you would not break your experience. [more] |
