Hits & Myths Music and Movies in Leura, NSW is where to find a mix of heritage rock, sound tracks, comedy CDs and collector’s corner for movie classics, TV series and operas. It caters more towards the 30s crowd with “older” music hit. It also has contemporary films and some exceptional 40s films. If they don’t have what you are looking for ask them and they will try to find it. When there check out some of the local musicians and CDS. There is a two volume set called Blue Mountains Music with musical expressions of the area. Some of the artists are Gary Stowe and Peter McVie, Fiona Joy Hawkins, Murray Hinder, Steve Stockton, Matt Lyon, Greg McCauley, Glyph, Robyne Dunn, Michael Norton, Leaf, John May, Lenny Marks, James Barrett and Jillian Talbot. It is an easy listening CD to relax to and imagine your trip to the mountains. I couldn’t dust off some of my old records from high school, you know the ones you use to take your lunch money down and spend every dime on the latest. My cassettes are all worn out too. I had to make the switch to CDs. This is where I am finding them to replace the worn out ones. Even hard to find items like Corey Hart, FIXX, David Bowie, Sex Pistols, etc. Yes I am a bit stuck on hearing my high school faves sometimes and stepping back. If you are not from Australia check out some country tunes that are hard to find elsewhere. Not a fave of everyone, but I love John Williamson and Slim Dusty.
