Kylemore Abbey and Tir Na Nog
Do you believe in Tir Na Nog? The land of forever young, where one spent day corresponds to 300 common years? Did you search for it in the west coast of Ireland and indeed it appeared to you when dreaming? Well I had no such luck - but in the beautiful west coast of Ireland, as you go just across the amazing Connemara National Park, Kylemore Abbey preserves a bit of that magic. Located in front of a small lake, this ancient neo-Gothic castle is one of the most romantic little places in the world. From the original owners to the Duke of Manchester, a Benedictine order bought it in 1920 and it is now an abbey. Nowadays a catholic school runs in the abbey - but it still preserves so much of its romantic architecture and atmosphere.
