The best paella you'll ever have
Paella is technically a dish from the area around Valencia in Spain, but it's pretty much served everywhere in Spain now. It's all dependent on the quality of the stock, apparently, and if that's true, then the stock at Pep Serra is incredible.
Paella, if you've never had it, is a rice-based seafood dish flavored with saffron. The rice turns yellow and absorbs all the seafood stock, and it's served with mussels, prawns and sometimes chicken or fish on top.
At Pep Serra, the minimum for ordering paella is two people, but I highly recommend ordering one huge platter for the whole table: the bigger the serving dish, the better it is. Don't know the science behind it, but it's true.
The paella mixta with chicken and seafood is to die for. Also, order some of the house sangria de cava, or sparkling white wine sangria. The prices are right for both food and drink, and there's no way you'll leave hungry. [more]
