Veliki Tabor
Veliki Tabor is a castle located in Hrvatsko Zagorje near the village of Desinic. It is really a fortified castle dating back to 12th century, the towers you can see where built in 15th century while the castle as it looks today was finished up in 19th century. Inside is wonderfully cool especially if you visit on a summer day (its all down to those fortified walls). Many have passed through these rooms, it was first property of the Ratkaj family but since them it has passed from hand to hand of many of the noble families and even one painter Ivekovic. Also there is a big well that is 30 meters deep and that might be interesting to check out. It does make for an interesting day out because it does look like something out of a fairy tale. [more] |
