Stroll along the Esplanade
The Cairns Esplanade leads along the town's new beach front developed in recent years. The wooden planks are great for a stroll or for jogging, especially since there are water fountains everywhere along the way. Or you can just sit and watch. There is also a good playground for children and room to have a picnic under a palm tree. The esplanade is definitely one of the more positive changes Cairns has seen over the years. [more] |

Cairns Esplanade
Cairns is such a pretty place. It is a major tourist attraction in itself. Things can be quite expensive, so if you want to go bargain shopping, there are night markets on. You can pick up a lot of souvenirs and cheap clothes. The Reef Hotel Casino is great too, some really good meals and can also be very affordable. The casino has a wildlife dome up the top with over 60 species and 250 animals including snakes, koalas, crocodiles and birds. Tickets are valid for 5 days, and you can get your photos taken holding the koalas or a 4m crocodile too. The esplanade is a beautiful walk, very relaxing. A must see place on a visit to Australia.
