Indulge your chocolate passion at Josophans
Cafe Josophan’s in Leura, NSW Australia is an indulgence of fine chocolates and gourmet food. The scent of the fresh chocolates being made is heavenly as you enter the establishment. All chocolates are handmade, literally, no machines will touch these delicate beauties. They are all fresh ingredients from local, French and Belgium with no preservatives or additives. They can be bought individually or by the box.
Josophans won the 2006 and again in 2008 overall Champion Chocolate exhibits at the Sydney Royal Cheese and Dairy Produce Show.
They also serve gourmet sandwiches, pies, scones, layers cakes, cheesecake, torte, tarts and waffles. All are displayed like a fine dining experience with all the sense taken into account for your pleasure.
Brekkie runs from $45.0-$14.50, lunch $8.50-$14.50, desserts $7.50-$9.50 and a kid’s menu of sandwiches for $2.50, babycinno for $1 and sundae for $5. All dishes can be served in smaller quantities for kids, just ask.
To indulge yourself and a friend order the High Tea for $21.50 per person. On a three tiered display plate there are finger sandwiches, assorted petit four treats, chocolates and cranberry/cinnamon scones with jam and cream. Also served with tea or coffee.
There is seating inside and out for this new building. It was added onto the St. David’s church that now serves as several shops. It blends in with the whole piece nicely.
They also hire out chocolate fountains and make celebration cakes. When Charlie and the Chocolate Factory came out at the theatre they provided the fountain and prizes for the kids that came to the show. It was a huge hit.
Jodi (the owner) went to Paris for a convention and attended many of their sweet shops and took cooking classes. You can see the French influence in most all her offerings.
They are open seven days a week from 9:00-5:00, are on the bus line and down the street from the train station. Parking is available along the street or in the town lot. [more ]
