Katoomba's most popular Bar and Brasserie
The Old City Bank Brasserie has become one of the must try restaurants of the Blue Mountains. It is situated on Katoomba Street as part of the Carrington Hotel complex. It was once the City Bank of Sydney and been transformed into a comfortable and war dining experience. It has bankers lamps on each table and large black and white photos of Katoomba and the Carrington on the walls. The tables are large wood blocks accented with the greens of the bankers lamps to complete the look. The menu is modern Australian with splashes of French and Italian. Gourmet wood fired Pizzas are a specialty, gourmet burgers, pastas, steaks and salads. The wine list has been carefully selected to complement the menu. If you have ever wanted to try kangaroo, they have it on the dinner menu with a beetroot garnish and salad. There are also vegetarian options available. Lunch menu prices for starters are from $6.00-$17.50, mains $8.50-$18.50, extras are $2.00-$7.00. Dinner menu starters are $6.00-$15.00, mains $15.00-$24.00, extras $2.00-$7.50. It is open seven days a week with lunch at midday and dinner at 6pm. The Brasserie sits above the Old City Bank Bar. The bar is the styling of an old English Pub, they have an outdoor beer garden and live entertainment on Friday and Saturday evenings. This is a favourite hangout of the locals for an after work pick me up. The bar is always crowded with them and tourists alike. It is a mix of ages from the 20 crowd to 40 somethings.
