Wading through City Market
If you’ve really been missing out on the thronging crowds, the endless human mass that is India, I suggest a trip to City Market. It’s the best place to get goods in bulk, and I’ll bet you’ll find anything you want, real cheap. I’ll also bet there’s a good chance somebody will pinch your butt. City Market is on the outskirts of the city where the common man (and so many of him) meets his daily mill. Maybe I’m exaggerating, but the day I went (I can’t remember for what), it was as crowded as hell, and the white-skinned English woman I was escorting had to use all her yogic discipline to keep her humour.
