Tall but Tacky

 stars
I have to say I don't like the Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur. As a piece of architecture I think its tacky, and the only creditable thing about the towers is that they are very high, and when lit up at night, look dramatic. In the daytime its easy to see what I mean. However, for a while it was the tallest building in the world, unitl Shanghai stepped in and topped it by a few metres. The towers and the Skybridge between the two towers are open to the public 9am to 7pm except Mondays, and admission is free [more]

15-Minute Breathtaking Tour at Petronas Towers

 stars
My first trip to Malaysia was a blast! I was so thrilled that, finally, I would be out of the country even for a short time. When you’re in Malaysia, the first place you’d visit is, of course, the Petronas Towers. Also known as the Twin Towers, this architecture has been the symbol of Malaysia for a very long time. Just look at some souvenirs that you have bought from the country, I’m sure one way or another some items have the towers engraved in them.

Located in Kuala Lumpur, the Petronas Towers used to be the highest building in the country until a taller building was built in 2004. Despite of the establishment of that new building, the Petronas Towers still boast of their sky bridge found on the towers’ 41st and 42nd floors. It is known as the tallest two-storey bridge in the world. Aside from the main architecture itself, the towers have a shopping mall on the lower ground. Also down below the building, you can relax at the KLCC Park.

What I liked about our trip to Petronas Towers was just before we went up to the towers, we had to see a film—showing the building’s history and all other information about it. Then we were given 15 minutes only to enjoy the amazing view of Malaysia. But I tell you, that 15 minutes was enough to take everybody's breath away! [more]
