St Nicholas Island – originally home to Father Christmas!
St Nicholas Island is another beautiful island accessible by boat only and is one of the boat stops on the daily trip from Fethiye and Olu Deniz. The original Father Christmas is said to have stayed on this island for quite some time, hence the name. The island houses an incredible crumbling village, which dates back thousands of years and can be explored on foot for a small fee. The Byzantine ruins of a monastery are particularly awe inspiring. Numerous gullets are anchored up adjacent to the island and the small beach provides a secluded place to relax, snorkel, swim or enjoy a spot of sun bathing.
