Propeller Drive: fashionable Fukuoka at an affordable price!
I lived in Fukuoka for a year and this was by far my favourite restaurant. The staff are friendly and the whole place has a really upmarket vibe, even though the prices are pretty reasonable. It’s a good place to order a bunch of different small dishes and share them with your mates over a beer or cocktail. I ordered a strawberry cocktail and the ice cube had a whole strawberry frozen inside it; it’s little touches like this that make it what it is. It’s situated in Tenjin on Imaizumi Street which is about five minutes walk from Mitsukoshi and just south of Kego Shrine. Food items start from JPY400; cocktails begin at JPY700, while beers begin at JPY450. There’s no cover charge. They also have a sister restauant called Tattoo, one street south of where Nishi-dori meets Kokutai-dori. [more]
