Philippe the Original
Philippe the Original is an all-American restaurant that is located at 1001 North Alameda Street in Los Angeles, California, near the famous Dodger Stadium, therefore it's a popular eatery (if not a landmark) that has established quite a name for itself since its opening day in 1908.
Tasty French dip sandwiches, coleslaw and macaroni salad are just some of the popular eats here at Philippe the Original, but there are tons of other dishes available here. Oh, and don't forget the 10-cent cups of coffee.
Philippe the Original is open daily from 6:00 am to 10:00 pm. [more ]
Philipe the Original
Philippe the Original (popularly known as Philippe's) is an LA icon. It is one of the oldest restaurants in Los Angeles, making it a favourite amongst both locals and tourists alike.
The place has an old-world charm about it and the food is for the masses, so don't expect haute cuisine here. The floors are strewn with sawdust, the tables and fixtures are utilitarian (but not without their charm), and you order from the counter.
The ladies back there behind the counter are experienced professionals: they wear old-fashioned uniforms and put together larger orders in an efficient pace. If you go in expecting to eat timeless, quality food --you will not be disappointed. [more ]
