The Shoemakers' Tower
One of the towers that still stand today in Sighisoara is the Shoemakers' Tower. I was told it is one of the most recent towers, as each of the towers were built in a different period. Apparently this one dates from the 16th century. I found it rather different from most of the other towers, because it have a different architectural style. The tower is short and wide, unlike others that are tall and more narrow. It has a very small observation tower on the highest level. The tower is very well preserved, but what we see today is a restoration, because the original tower was destroyed in great fires several times. The tower is worth taking a look.
