The first time I heard of Akihabara I thought it was pronounced Akki-harbour and was expecting to find streets nestling around a water front. Of course this isn’t the case! Akihabara is the computer and technology district of Tokyo and is famous as a place to get a bargain in the center of the city. It is especially interesting to musicians as you will find several branches of Tom Lee music shops selling secondhand music equipment at exceptionally low prices. And no actual harbour to be seen.
