A little romance in a little cafe in Berlin
Olivia is a delicate little cafe on Wuelischstasse, Friedrichshain that sells tea, fine chocolates, cakes, snacks and cordials. The interior is light, white and very cute. It's an unusual place in the suburb it sits and overall has a very 19th century garden party atmosphere. Wear something dapper or super feminine. It has a different vibe which is dependent on the two main seasons of the year, the hot one and the cold one. Summer is an outdoor affair, the street in front of the shop hosts three settings of Victorian white metal garden furniture decorated with little seat cushions which also served to prevent the furniture pattern being transferred to you. We sat in our Sunday best and sipped cordials well into the afternoon. We had a range of lime, watermelon and grenadine, the latter being the most popular appearing on every table. In winter time, the settings are reduced to the small indoor shop floor but there are three settings tucked in there on mostly bench seats. The indoor decor is very white and the shelves on either side are always full of sublime teas and chocolates. The hot chocolate is super chocolatey.
