Golf Course Road
If you ever find yourself in Amherstview and in the mood for a hike, do what we do each winter. Take the Golf Course Road. Head west on Bath Road, north (for a minute) on Taylor Kidd Blvd, and turn left after you go over the tracks onto the small Golf Course Road. It leads to a golf course. My sister, mom, dad, Masumi, and I all headed down this click and a half hike, throwing snowballs at each other on the way. It`s all field, forest, and a few houses in the sticks. After we reached the golf course, we crossed the railway onto Amherstdrive. Only pausing to re-inact that classic scene in A Christmas Story where the one fellow gets his tongue stuck on the metal pole. It`s a long hike, but nice in the summer or winter. Actually, if you drive (gently) down the dirt road in the summer time, you can see rabbits. Almost guaranteed. [more] |
