Shilparamam

Situated off the road into Hi-Tec City from Lingampally area in Hyderabad, this spot is sure to soak your senses with delight until they totally surrender. A mere 10Rs. to enter, it is a garden-cum-craft faire, natural walk, and cultural center all in one.
Surprisingly well kept considering some of the other more poorly maintained gardens in India, this one is far from disillusioning. Rather, it boasts of a folk museum complete with situational replicas of native scenes, attire, tools, etc., keeps a few small lakes, innumerable gazebos and long dirt walks around the property. One might even happen upon a clandestinely nesting couple resting on one of the over-sized swings tucked away in a small grove.
And as if that were all not enough, it maintains a small "craft village" with numerous stalls selling various wares from shirts, to tapestries, to jewelry, pottery, and the like.
All in all, certainly a cheerful respite from the clamoring hubub of the city streets. [more]
