The Paris Mosque
Although the Latin Quarter is best known as the student district and the site of the Sorbonne, it is also the home the largest mosque in France, the Paris Mosque. The Paris Mosque was built in the 1920s, to honor the Algerians and other Muslim colonials that fought for France in World War One. It is built in the style of the Alhambra in Spain. Located at 39 rue Geoffroy St. Hilaire, in the 5th arrondissment, métro Monge, the mosque offers guided tours of the building, the courtyard and the garden, all for an extremely reasonable three euros per person. If you are in the Latin Quarter, make it a point to stop and tour this beautiful building.
