Orthodox Cathedral
The Orthodox Cathedral is a very new building and one of the most beautiful in the area. It was built in 1934 and it has a Byzantine architecture. The cathedral is very big and you can spot it from pretty far away. To get there, you will have to cross a bridge, because the cathedral was built on the other bank of the Tarnava Mare river. I visited the cathedral on Sunday when they were having mass and I personally loved it. The mass didn't take very long, as it usually happens in Romania, and the general atmosphere was great. The cathedral has lovely interior decorations and precious icons. The patron of the cathedral is the Holy Trinity. [more] |
